I haven't actually had time to install this in my worktop yet, but I've plugged it in and tested it and all is good with it.I haven't got a hole-cutter big enough, so I will need to do it with a jigsaw.It connects by simply plugging the extension lead into a standard mains socket, so no wiring to worry about.It's a little pricy at almost £90 but it is really good quality and looks good too.I like how a little push on the top causes it to rise slowly from the worktop. The one I've got now requires you to push a collar down and physically pull it up.There are 4 mains sockets and 4 USB ports (2 x USB A and 2 x USB C) and the top is a QI wireless charger.Excellent solution for providing power for almost anything.
