I have had the Beam n Read for about a year and find it an absolute necessity for needlework. I have tried several other lighting options over the years, some of which were terrible, most of which were only so-so. The Beam n Read is wonderful - bright light, hands-free, adjustable neck strap. The only problem is that when the batteries start to go, the light goes from nice and bright to "why do my eyes hurt?" very quickly. This product completely eliminates that problem. With the six foot extension cable, you don't even have to worry about sitting right next to a power outlet to use it comfortably. I still keep an extra set of batteries in my stitching kit, but with this addition to my Beam n Read, it will be a long time before I need them. If you like to stitch, you really should invest in these products.
